Calling All Potential Umpires

Windsor-Essex is in dire need of umpires.

You don’t need any experience; we will train you. Anyone turning 11 this year (born in 2013) or older can be an umpire. We especially need “mature” umpires to work the older age groups. This is a great part time job for the summer. Our Umpire in Chief (UIC) will work around your schedule, and you can work as many games as you’d like.

For those not familiar with WE Umps - we schedule umpires for Travel (Rep) games for several baseball organizations in the Windsor area, in addition to umpires for the Windsor Hawks House league.  If you are interested in umpiring for Tecumseh house league or Windsor South Canadians, we are happy to make introductions to those amazing UICs as well.  We are all working together to make sure all games in Windsor are covered and kids are enjoying the game.

We are hosting two In-Person Clinics:

Saturday April 13th 10:00 - 2:00

or

Saturday April 27th 10:00 - 2:00

Clinics will be held in the gym at:

Holy Names Catholic High School

1400 Northwood St.

Windsor

Clinic fees are $25 for level 1 umpires and $45 for level 2. More information regarding umpire certification can be found on the Baseball Ontario Website at the following link.

https://www.playoba.ca/umpire-certification

If you’re interested or for more information please contact our UIC, Mari Otero-Jones, at whacumpires@gmail.com.

Earn cash and gain a better understanding of the game on your terms.

The Hawks ordering portal is now open until February 25th at midnight

This is the perfect opportunity for our fans to get their swag. There are hoodies, T-shirts, tanks, hats, bags, and many other items for fans to purchase. The uniform is for travel players only, but these items are for everyone. This is also a fund raiser for the organization, we receive a small percentage of each purchase. Use the link below for direct access.

Get your Hawks gear, show your colours and wear it proud.

Our uniform portal is open once again for those who have not ordered their uniforms. This is the last chance for those registered travel (rep) players to place their order. Any registered player who has not purchased their uniform will be unable to play and they will not receive a refund for registration costs already paid.

The following was posted on Windsorite.ca. For the full story click HERE.

The City of Windsor is looking for input on plans for Walker Homesite Park.

The city is developing a new Functional Design Plan for the park with upgrades aimed at mitigating current drainage issues, upgrading the existing parking lots, improving public safety, improving park accessibility, and enhancing the existing sports facilities.

A new concept plan and a brief summary of the proposed improvements is available on the city’s website. You will also find a link to share your thoughts via SurveyMonkey.

The deadline for comments is Saturday, December 17th, 2022.

We've been working with the City on many of these improvements and now is the time for you to be heard. This is exciting news for Walker Homesites Park and our community. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey at the following link.
